Highclere Thoroughbred Racing     Introduction In 1890 the Fifth Earl of Carnarvon founded the Highclere Stud and so began a tradition of racing at Highclere that is still flourishing today over one hundred years later. Of course one of the many differences between now and my great grandfather's day is the ever increasing expense of owning racehorses combined with the tremendously competitive conditions brought about by the all powerful international investment. Highclere Thoroughbred Racing was conceived very much with these problems in mind in order to enable those who love racing to reduce the costs and risks of racehorse ownership whilst still enjoying a high degree of personal involvement. Since its creation in 1992, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing has become the country's leading syndication company and continues to produce top class racehorses for its small group of shareowners. It has always been my intention to keep Highclere Thoroughbred Racing's ownership group as exclusive as possible and to ensure a personal level of service which is unique within the thoroughbred industry.  In these web pages you will find details of a carefully tailored enterprise which enables you to participate at the highest level of racing as well as to enjoy the beauty and history of Highclere. I very much hope that you will join me in this exciting venture, and become a part of racing's most successful and exclusive ownership team. Harry Herbert, Managing Director

Peteski, Darby Dan Farm, Triple Crown     Peteski may be the best horse on the continent...he has an abundance of speed at any distance."-trainer Roger Attfield.  oger Attfield, as a conditioner of fine racehorses, must rank as one of the best, in Canada or anywhere else in the world. The winner of five Sovereign Awards, Attfield knows a good horse when he sees one, and in the spring of 1993 he knew for certain he had something very special developing under his shedrow, something that went well beyond the realm of "good." Brilliance and Bloodlines.  That something was Peteski, who simply stated, began the season a maiden and ended it a champion. In his only start at two, the son of Affirmed and Vive had flashed early speed, enough to give those who were paying attention a quick glimpse of what might lie ahead. Attfield duly noted the promise, viewing his young charge as one for the future, although perhaps a bit over-eager. Time and an award winning trainer's patience and skill changed that, and by mid-1993 no superlative seemed quite enough to describe what Peteski had become.

The Cyberstable     The Cyberstable was formed through the Internet to own and race standardbred horses. In 1997 we had 2 two year old Beach Towel fillies trained by Stew Firlotte, winner of 5 Breeders Crown races. Beach Guest, our stakes winner, became the 3rd fastest 2yo Beach Towel Filly! Pensive Princess didn't race and was sold as a broodmare at the end of her 2-year-old year. For 1998-1999, the E-Mail Stable was formed, and purchased Beach Guest's full brother, renamed Cyber Beach. E-Mail Stable also owns a minority (20%) share of Mary Mattgalane, a Matts Scooter grand-daughter of the great Nadia Lobell. The horses owned by Cyberstable and E-Mail Stable are also trained by Stew Firlotte. Finally, due to heightened interest in the Cyberstable concept, the Nobody Stable was established, with the express purpose of training a yearling to race in the lucrative Ontario Sires program. Nobody Stable purchased Nobody's Girl, currently in training in Ontario with Ken Sucee - full brother to Ralph Sucee, the General Partner for all three Partnerships. All three stables are registered as Limited Partnerships in Ontario and with the United States Trotting Association and the Canadian Trotting Association. The members of our stables are from New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., New Hampshire, Michigan, California and Ontario. The website provides a place to pin up some photos of ourselves and our horses, and to see updates (select appropriate stable in top menu) on their progress. The site also provides the opportunity for others who may be interested in the sport of harness racing to learn more about the sport, visit some of the other great websites devoted to harness racing and learn about ownership opportunities. We are always happy to answer any questions about the sport or about our partnership. We anticipate future cyberstables so, if interested, inquire now to be notified in the future. Thoroughbred Gallery     Welcome. We hope this gallery will be a place where you can enjoy images of the ancestors of today's thoroughbreds. We have posted a few images here at the gallery, but we hope it will serve primarily as an index to other internet sites displaying images of the progenitors of thoroughbred racehorses and sport horses competing today. Selecting the horse's name should take you directly to the image; selecting the internet site next to the name will take you to the main page of the site hosting the image. Off-site images will not link back to us; you can use the back button on your browser.

Thoroughbred Owners & Breeders Association     Founded in 1961, the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association is the most influential association in North America dedicated solely to promoting the interests of Thoroughbred owners and breeders and Thoroughbred racing in general. Our diverse membership spans the globe and includes owners and breeders at all stages and levels of involvement in the Thoroughbred industry, as well as countless state owners' and breeders' associations. All share a commitment to the Thoroughbred and the future of Thoroughbred racing in North America. Through our projects-including the successful nationwide America's Day at the Races promotion, our administration of the North American Graded Stakes Committee, new owner seminars and other educational programs, and our ongoing engagement with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association-TOBA is a force for innovation and integrity in the Thoroughbred sport. And TOBA's value extends beyond racing: our Equine Health Committee's work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and our support of the Performance Horse Registry make us a key resource for Thoroughbred owners and breeders in non-racing disciplines as well. TOBA is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association based in Lexington, Kentucky.  You can E-mail us for a free "Champion" Newsletter which details the major projects TOBA is currently working on or write to:  Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association  P.O. Thoroughbred Pedigree Query     There are about 160,000 horses in the database. All pedigrees were entered by hand based on information found in industry publications, sales catalogs, stallion registers, etc. Virtually all North American and European stakes winners since 1988 are included.  All horse names are stored in Upper Case, but you can type in any case, and the name will be converted before the query is submitted.  Dosage information uses Steve Roman's chef-de-race list. The most recent addition is Secretariat. Chef-de-race classifications are shown in brackets, e.g. [C] or [BI], where:  •B = Brilliant •I = Intermediate •C = Classic •S = Solid •P = Professional  Abbreviations: DP is dosage profile, DI is dosage index, and CD is center of distribution. If the pedigree is incomplete to four generations, dosage figures are based on the known portions of the pedigree, and are probably incorrect.

Thoroughbred Racehorses at Harris Farms         Harris Farms Horse Division  The Harris Farms Horse Division was established in 1966 by John Harris and his father, Jack, both cattle ranchers, farmers and horsemen who decided to devote a substantial part of the Harris Ranch farming and cattle operation to the raising and training of Thoroughbred racehorses.  The day-to-day operation of Harris Farms combines high technology with old fashioned horsemanship dedicated to the development of productive racehorses. From foaling time to the day the horse leaves for the racetrack, each horse is cared for by a professional horseman every day of its life. A natural healthy environment for young horses is provided by more than 600 acres of gently rolling pastures.  In this day of cloning we have all become sensitized to the importance that the environment has in the development of a living organism. Harris Ranch has a proven track record in producing winning thoroughbreds and every horse owner wants to not only bred to the best that budget will allow but must give as much consideration to the environment in which the thoroughbred will be foaled, raised, broken and trained. Harris Farms is here for you and your thoroughbred.

Tyreel Stud Index     The beautiful Tyreel property has a unique history, going back to 1804 when Andrew Thompson received a land grant for the original 78 acres. He was transported to the colony as a convict in 1792 and was pardoned to become Head Constable of the Hawkesbury District. The property passed to the Williams family in 1839 and the house that still stands was built by John Williams way back in 1880. The main house is of brick, on a stone base with stone sills and flat red brick lintels. The verandah is a delicate cast iron with a double hipped slate roof, French windows and a bell cast corrugated iron roof. The garden contains many old style trees including a 108 year old Granda Flora Magnolia.   Tyreel has a 300 meter deep river frontage to the Nepean River and it’s own in-ground pool and tennis court.  The same traditional care that has restored this great property has been applied to the development of facilities for the rearing of thoroughbreds.

Valley Creek Farm     Although a relatively young farm, Valley Creek Farm already boasts of having reared and developed many $100,000 plus earners and many Stakes winners. Valley Creek Farm's record confirms the belief that a foal fed and raised properly would be a better race horse.

Virtual Post Call Stable     Our philosophy is simple. We find horses who we feel are well bred, who have shown good racing potential, and who are managed by jockeys and trainers that have inferior winning percentages than our trainer and jockeys. In general we obtain our horses through claiming races, however we have bid on several horses at auction and negotiated privately when needed.  Another part of our philosophy is to minimize costs. We have a quarterly newsletter and have no extravagant office expenses or management fees- only what we need. As well, we pass on no additional expenses to members. Recruitment of new members is limited to this webpage and word of mouth.
